Crowne Plaza AiRE in Bloomington, MN – Acrylic Prints
This huge, 430 room property hosts many clients within the travel industry as it is so close to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Because their guests are so involved in aviation the Crowne Plaza AiRE wanted to highlight the history of aviation with the corridor art. Throughout the corridors of the 13 floor hotel Kahler Photo created and installed these acrylic montages showcasing events and documentation of aircrafts throughout the history of aviation.
All of the prints were done here in studio at Kahler Photo! We now have perfected our dye-sublimation process that allows us to print acrylic prints with incredible accuracy and resolution. Other methods for printing to acrylic tend to not have the same crispness in details that dye-sublimation can provide. All of these acrylic prints are float mounted to the wall with a frame inset to the acrylic to give that floating appearance.
We also included small plaques with short descriptions of what historical event or place in history this photograph was taken. All of the images were found on either the Library of Congress or through NASA.
